Cisco Sponsors Wireless Healthcare Award

There is only one week left for wireless healthcare companies and users to enter for the BT eHealth Insider Awards 2008.

The ‘Best Use of Wireless Healthcare’ is being sponsored by Cisco and will be awarded to the entrant who has made best use of wireless technologies to improve the working lives of staff, enhance patient services and increase the efficiency of their healthcare organisation.

The judges will be looking for advances that have been shown to work in the healthcare setting and could be used elsewhere.

There are six other categories for healthcare organisations to enter:

Healthcare IM&T team of the year
Best use of IM&T to promote patient safety
Best use of IM&T in healthcare security
Best use of ICT in patient and citizen involvement in healthcare
Healthcare ICT product innovation
Excellence in Healthcare Information Management

In addition, there is another category for Healthcare ICT Champion of the Year, an opportunity to recognise the achievements of an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the past year. Nominations are are required along with a 50 word summary stating why the person chosen deserves this title. The organiser will draw up a shortlist and there will be an opportunity to vote on the most popular nominees later in the year.
